The elaborate Griha Pravesh ceremony to invite prosperity into a new home, involving the foundation laying, doorframe Rakhi, and entering with an auspicious water pot.

Foundation & Door: Place auspicious items in the foundation. A sister or daughter ties a protective Rakhi on the main door frame.

Havan & Tying the Knot: The couple wears new clothes, sits for a Havan, and their garments are tied in a ceremonial knot with a silver coin and grains.

The Entrance: A new water pot (Kalash) is prepared. Four boys hold a veil, and the couple enters under it, stepping in with their right foot first.

The sisters/daughters block the door playfully until they receive their Neg (gifts/money).

First Meal: Milk is boiled on the stove as an auspicious sign, and Jaggery Rice with Badi-Chanwaledi greens is cooked as the first meal in the new house.
