Step-by-Step Instructions

Seat the groom (Beanraja) on a chair in the courtyard.

The elder women (grandmother, mother, aunt, sister-in-law) affectionately tease his face with a spoon.

The aunt and sister-in-law apply Kajal to the groom and pretend to groom his hair from the shoulder, receiving a money cover as Neg.

All aunts and sisters present perform the Aarti of the groom.

Unmarried girls perform Loon-Uwari by rotating a bundle of salt and mustard seeds around the groom's head to ward off evil eyes.
