What is this about? (History)
The Jhadula (Mundan) is the sacred ritual of offering the child's first birth hair to the family deities to seek their lifelong protection and blessings.

Step-by-Step Instructions

The mother fasts and wears yellow clothing during the offering.

First Jhadula: At Mahasatiji's temple in Fatehpur on Asoj Sudi Gyaras. The hair is cut with scissors and offered along with coconut, blouse pieces, and millet.

Second Jhadula: At Toliasar Bhainruji's temple on Asoj Sudi 13. The hair is offered similarly.

Prasad from the temple must not be brought home; it must be consumed or distributed at the temple itself.

If there is any needle or thread work being done in the house, the Jhadula is postponed.
