Step-by-Step Instructions

Makar Sankranti (Jan 14): Also known as Uttarayan. Celebrate by flying kites, and eating/distributing sesame seeds and Laddus for charity.

Basant Panchami & Phuldiya Dooj: Both are highly auspicious, Abujh Muhurat days suitable for marriages without needing to consult an astrologer.

Holi (Falgun Purnima): Prepare Katha-dal-rice in the evening. Brothers and sisters apply tilak to each other.

Holi Parikrama: Perform parikrama around the Holi fire with a water pot, rolling rice. Roast a Papad on the embers and feed it to children to prevent cough.
