What is this about? (History)
The Peethi ritual involves applying a turmeric and flour paste (Ubtan) to the bride/groom to cleanse, nourish, and prepare them for the wedding.
Things to Buy / Requirements
- Pitthi (turmeric, flour, and oil/ghee paste)
- Two Supadas (Chajla)
- Wheat, rice, moong, salt nuggets
- Rs 5 coin
- A rolling pin (Belan)
Step-by-Step Instructions

Apply the Peethi from bottom to top: on the toes of both feet, palms of both hands, both cheeks, and finally the forehead.

Remove the Peethi in reverse (from top to bottom).

Sing traditional songs like 'Lyai Ae Telan Telo' during the process.
