Step-by-Step Instructions

From the in-laws' side: The daughter-in-law is adorned with henna, given a new saree, and her lap (shell) is filled with sugar candy, copra, and 500 Rupees.

The daughter-in-law is then sent to her maternal home (Pehar).

From the maternal side: When sending her back to her in-laws, she is again adorned with henna, a new saree, and Roli tilak.

Her lap is filled again by her parents, and they gift 11 blouse pieces, a money cover, and sweets as a sign of prosperity.
