Things to Buy / Requirements
- No lamps, incense, or Dhoop in the home temple
- New water pot (after purification)
- God's idols/chains worn around the neck
Step-by-Step Instructions

During the Suttak period, lighting lamps or incense in the home temple is strictly prohibited.

Once the purification ritual (burning barley and sesame seeds) is done, a member must bathe and thoroughly clean the temple.

Lamps and incense can then be lit again.

The old water in the kitchen must be discarded, the pot cleaned, and filled with fresh new water.

Family members who wear a god's idol or chain around their neck should take it off during Suttak, put it back on after purification, and light incense in front of it.
