The bride and groom sit in the departure vehicle (car).

A small coconut is placed near the wheels. The car is started and moved slightly to break the coconut.

The car is moved forward three times in short bursts.

On the fourth time, the car finally departs (Vidai).

As the car leaves, a family member pours a pot full of water behind the car as an auspicious sign.
